In the sacrament of Confirmation, we are anointed with sacred chrism and sealed with the Gift of the Holy Spirit. Confirmation is necessary for the completion of the graces we receive at Baptism.
The norm in the Archdiocese of Anchorage-Juneau is at the end of 10th grade. Confirmation preparation is a two year process. In order to register for Confirmation preparation classes, complete the Faith Formation registration form.
Some adults (aged 18 and over) chose to delay their Confirmation. Those who are well-catechized may choose to do a 6 week preparation, at the discretion of the Pastor and/or Director of Catechetical Ministries. That class is typically led by Deacon Mick during Lent. You can register HERE for the Adult Confirmation class.
Alternatively, adults seeking Confirmation may take the OCIA year-long preparation, which provides a more complete instruction in the teachings of the Catholic faith. More information about OCIA, as well as registration, is available HERE.
