Our children and parents come to encounter Christ.
St. Patrick’s Parish Family Formation is designed to help young children and parents encounter Christ and understand the deep love God has for them. Our children come to encounter Christ in each other and our adult leaders, who themselves seek holiness. Our children’s formation is for preschoolers up to 5th grade. We are happy to offer two formation programs for children!
We meet every Sunday, either in the morning (beginning with breakfast) immediately after 8:30 a.m. Mass, with formation sessions from 10:00 a.m. – 11:15 a.m -OR- 1:00 p.m. – 3:00 p.m.
Catechesis of the Good Shepherd
Catechesis of the Good Shepherd (CGS) is a Montessori-based formation program. If your child will thrive in a Montessori-based program, we highly recommend this excellent program!
This is offered for children 3 years-old (potty-trained) to 2nd graders, with sessions at 10:00 a.m. – 11:15 a.m. and 1:00 p.m. – 3:00 p.m. Visit our CGS page for more information.
Faith Journeys is designed to help our children understand the richness of our Catholic faith and deepen their personal relationship with Christ with the help of their parents, catechists, and peers.
This is offered for children 3 years-old (potty-trained) to 5th graders, with one session from 10:00 a.m. – 11:15 a.m.
Every month our children will be presented a trail to hike by completing mileposts. For example, to complete the Blessed Mother Trail, children will need to complete these mileposts; (1) Learn how to pray the rosary; (2) Pray the rosary once a week with your family for the next month; (3) Create a Marian shrine in your home; (4) Be able to communicate what the Immaculate Conception is.
After completing these mileposts, the child will be tested by a catechist and report what they have completed at home. Children who complete these hikes and their families will be recognized twice a year at our Flames of Faith Ceremonies.
Our parents have the option to attend our parent formation sessions every Sunday from 10:00 a.m. – 11:15 a.m. in our chapel. This will give parents the opportunity to learn what their children are learning, but on an adult level. Parent will have time to learn from each other and share tips on how to be the primary catechists of their children at home.
Catechist Meet & Greet
Come meet our catechists and learn more about our family formation programs September 22nd after 8:30 a.m. Mass in Deacons Hall. We’ll gather for breakfast as a parish family to give parents, children, and catechists an opportunity to meet before formation sessions begin.
